Launched from Wahweap in clear, breezy conditions. As we motored up towards Cascade Canyon the Yukon Toe ceremony (modified) broke the ice on the trip; google it. We cruised the 47 miles in a couple of hours. After setting up camp and having lunch we got in the sea touring kayaks and went on a short paddle to get comfortable in the boats. Everyone paddled great. Burgers for dinner.

The second day we paddled Cascade Canyon in the morning to a beautiful short hike. Lunch found us back at camp. Some of us paddled in the afternoon across the lake to a sweet no name small canyon. At dinner Dave nailed the spanish rice, perfectly melted cheese.

On the third morning we paddled up the main channel to Secret Canyon, the conditions were a bit choppy but everyone handled it them well. Secret was great with once again a beautiful hike. Dave and I demonstrated a couple of rescue drills after lunch, the scoop and the T. Oak Bay and paddled home. A couple who were a bit pooped rode back with Dave on the boat.

Day 4 we paddled Driftwood Canyon from camp. Great hike that was a little longer than the previous walks. A trip to the miner’s stairs before lunch and loaded the kayaks for a trip to Rainbow Bridge. Tilapia for dinner.

Anasazi Canyon has some of the darkest slot canyon I have seen. Day five was great with a fun dinner and an awesome moonlight stroll in the slick rock.

Day 6 we paddled Cathedral Canyon and motored up to Twilight Arch and cruised Twilight Canyon.

On the last day some of the group had early flights so we broke camp early and headed towards Wahweap. A few of us got a good paddle in and met back up with Dave to do some rescue drills and have lunch. After lunch we headed home, reluctantly.
